Built in Houston, for Houston businesses

We're not a national agency with a satellite office here. We live in this city, we know the market, and we started this business because we saw a real gap no one was filling.

How NameDropAI started

I'm Owen. I'm a Houston-based consultant, and NameDropAI started because of raccoons. Bear with me.

It was 2am on a Tuesday in late June. I heard scratching in the attic โ€” that specific, rhythmic scratching that means something alive is up there making itself at home. My wife was not thrilled. If you've lived in Houston long enough, you know this story: the heat drives all kinds of wildlife to look for cool, dark spaces, and your attic insulation is basically a five-star resort. Could have been rats. Could have been squirrels. Turned out to be raccoons. Classic.

I did what any reasonable person does at 2am: I opened ChatGPT and typed "who should I call for raccoon removal in Houston?" It gave me two names. Confidently. Like it had sent raccoons packing a thousand times. I called the first one, they came out, they handled it, problem solved. Fine experience. But later โ€” because I'm a consultant and I can't leave well enough alone โ€” I couldn't stop thinking: why those two companies? There are dozens of wildlife removal businesses in Houston. Were those actually the best ones? Or just the most... findable by AI?

I started digging. Asked Perplexity. Asked Claude. Ran my own searches. Same 2-3 names kept surfacing everywhere. So I looked those businesses up. Nothing special โ€” average reviews, nothing that screamed "clearly the best in the city." But they had one thing in common: their data was everywhere. Foursquare, Bing Places, citations consistent across 30+ directories, schema markup on their sites. The works.

The businesses that weren't showing up? Some of them had 200+ Google reviews, 15 years in operation, clearly better operations. They just weren't in the right data sources. AI had barely heard of them. That's the gap. That's NameDropAI. I started it to fix exactly that problem โ€” for wildlife removal, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and every other trade where the best business isn't always the one that shows up.

How we work

Four principles we don't bend on.

๐Ÿ“Š

Data first, opinions second

We don't tell you what we think AI is doing with your business โ€” we show you. We run the actual queries, capture the actual results, and present you with evidence. No speculation, no guesswork.

๐Ÿ”“

Transparent before we ask for anything

The audit is free. You'll see your full AI presence report before we even have a conversation about paid services. We believe you should know what you're buying before you buy it.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

We explain what we're doing and why

Jargon is a way of hiding. When we talk about Foursquare or structured data, we explain what it means in plain language. You should understand exactly what's being done to your business presence.

๐Ÿค

No contracts you can't get out of

We work month-to-month. If you're not seeing progress or you just want to pause, you're not locked in. We'd rather keep earning your business every month than trap you in a 12-month agreement.

This city deserves a local expert, not a national template

Houston is the fourth-largest city in the country. It has a massive, fragmented service market โ€” hundreds of HVAC companies, plumbers, roofers, wildlife removal specialists, and contractors, all fighting for the same customers. The stakes are high.

Houston's heat and older housing stock mean wildlife issues are a near-universal homeowner experience โ€” raccoons, squirrels, rats, you name it. We started with wildlife removal because that's where Owen found the gap. But the same pattern holds for HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and every other trade: the best businesses aren't always the ones showing up in AI recommendations, and most owners have no idea it's even happening.

A national agency doesn't know that Katy is its own world. They don't know what a Houston summer does to the demand for AC repair (it breaks it). They don't know that Spring and Cypress have exploded with new construction โ€” new homeowners who don't have a go-to plumber yet and are asking ChatGPT instead of their neighbors. We're not pretending to serve 50 cities at once. We're focused on Houston, where we actually know the market. That focus makes us better at this.
